Hitotsume Kozo are mischief-prone goblins from Japanese folklore that resemble ugly little humanoids with extremely long tongues and a single eye.
They dress in the style of traditional monks and frequent lonely roads where they enjoy startling and scaring people but are otherwise harmless spirits who will leave their victims alone after the initial scare - making them largely neutral pranksters rather than evil or cruel, especially by yokai standards.
