The Castle as it would of appeared around the time of Soulis.

According to folklore Hermitage Castle was corrupted by de Soulis and became a place full of witchcraft, Satanism and black magic so foul the castle at one point began to sink in the Earth, "as if to hide its sins from God". The castle was a place of unimaginable suffering as de Soulis would use it to summon demons and spirits as well as regularly torture many victims for his own pleasure, the most infamous of de Soulis' many monstrous servants was Robin Redcap, a redcap so powerful some legends suggested he was the Devil himself. Long after de Soulis' death the castle continues to be seen as a place of supernatural evil with Robin Redcap continuing to haunt the area, de Soulis also returns every seven years to haunt the castle vaults and other strange entities have been reported, including an angry knight. The castle is also reported to have a hidden treasure collected over the many years of de Soulis' depraved rule, which is guarded over by Robin Redcap.
