The Haunted Houses

A Haunted House or Cursed House is a building or construction where apparitions or paranormal phenomena occur. According to popular legends, a haunted house can be inhabited by ghosts, poltergeists or even. Sometimes these presences reportedly continue to haunt the physical world after a tragic event occurred on the property, such as a murder, accidental death, or suicide. Formerly, there were cases where, after events of this type, it was decided that, instead of allowing it to continue serving domestic life, the property would be closed on many occasions indefinitely or for a long time, allowing its structure to deteriorate due to lack of maintenance (hence the tendency to understand that if a house has this characteristic, it means that it is a haunted house); The best known way of representing this circumstance was by means of walls that were placed on the doors and windows of the property. They can also be the subject of a curse, like the Winchester Mansion in California. Other examples of famous haunted houses are Drumbeg Manor, Donegal, (Ireland), Borley's Presbytery, Kompong Som House, Cambodia, and the famous Amityville horror house. Haunted houses are common elements in literary or film fiction horror and paranormal fiction.

The structure of a haunted house can be anything from an old European castle to a small house in a newly built suburb. However, many authors and film directors prefer architecture from the early 20th century or earlier, particularly dark mansions. According to parapsychology, the phenomenon called infestation actually occurs in a haunted house.
