Haruspex are a strain of Tyranid construct which appears in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Tough, bone-plated, six-limbed monstrosities, the Haruspex were created with only a single function in mind: the consumption of any biomass which might seek to resist the Hive Mind’s assault. To this effect they are equipped with a set of enormous crab-claws more than able to crush even the most heavily-armoured battle tank on their forelimbs. Haruspex are also capable of projecting their stomachs out through their mouths. These stomachs feature a long, lash-like grappling appendage which can then shoot forward to ensnare any prey which attempts to run, before dragging it back to be torn apart by the powerful mandibles which surround the creature’s jaw.
As this level of metabolic activity generates an astonishing amount of heat, Haruspex are also spawned with a set of bony “chimneys” which sprout from their back, allowing the creatures to vent much of their thermal output before succumbing to an extreme case of hyperthermia.
