Gundarks were non-sapient creatures from the Star Wars universe. They were highly aggressive anthropoids known throughout the galaxy for being prone to violence. They were native to the planet Vanqor.
Biology[]
The average adult gundark stands between 1 - 2.5 meters tall. They are typically covered in red skin with manes of black hair covering their necks. They have four arms, the upper arms being larger than the lower pair, and end in three clawed digits. The gundark's short legs each end in a single claw and they possess a small tail. They also sported a pair of wide ears on their heads.
Gundarks give live birth and the newborns are capable of fighting as soon as they are born. They only have two arms at birth, their lower arms growing in during adolescence.
Behaviour[]
Gundarks are ferocious carnivores and will pursue prey relentlessly, tearing them apart with their four arms when caught. Due to their extreme aggression, they are favoured in gladiatorial combat, even against larger creatures such as hanadaks or rancors.
Gundarks lived in organized family units inside hollowed-out trees or caves. Several gundark families often lived together as a tribe, working for their common survival. Gundark society was matriarchal, with the oldest and most cunning female ruling the tribe. Males built the tribal homes and defended them ferociously from all intruders, attacking anything that entered the vicinity of the nest (and even some things that did not). Female gundarks were usually hunter-gatherers, acquiring the food needed by the tribe and training the young gundarks who weren't old enough to go out on their own.
