The Guardian is a creature from the survival-horror game The Evil Within 2. This monstrosity appears to be built from parts of the bodies of various women who were murdered by serial-killer Stefano Valentini. This creature is a symbolic representation of Stefano's insane obsession with art and the women who were slaughtered in order to create Stefano's macabre works.
Appearance[]
The Guardian is an amalgamation of various human body parts constructed into a humanoid shape. The body of the creature consists of multiple heads, all looking identical to one another: sporting beautiful porcelain faces, long raven-black hair and red eyes and red-stained lips. The legs, left arm and lower body of the beast all seem to be made from numerous human arms and legs that have been fused and bound together with wire. The right arm, however, is mechanical and ends in a large buzzsaw.
Behaviour[]
The Guardian is a servant of Stefano's will and exists to destroy its master's enemies. It hobbles awkwardly as it moves, barely capable of keeping its balance. Its various heads all mutter and giggle as the creature patrols the area it inhabits. When it encounters prey, the monster will laugh hysterically as it charges its victim, bringing its buzzsaw arm to bear in order to tear its target apart.
Combat[]
Guardians are highly resilient enemies and it is often the better option to run from them than to fight them, especially during the first playthrough of the game. However, the Sawed-Off Shotgun can be quite effective when fully upgraded, as can the Warden Crossbow's Explosive Bolts. Shock Bolts are also useful for stunning a Guardian; an effective strategy for killing a Guardian is to immobilize it with Shock Bolts, then switch to Explosive Bolts and the Shotgun while it is prone.
