Gotou is the main antagonist of the sci-fi body horror manga/anime series Parasyte: The Maxim-. He is an experimental parasyte created by Reiko, as well as the most powerful of the species in the entire series. His body is mainly composed of many parasytes, which he can use at maximum advantage to take down his enemies.
Appearance[]
At first, Gotou appears fully human. During his first appearance, he looked like a muscular man with gym shorts, tennis and a tank top, wearing a smile on his face and with his eyes always closed.
In order to hide from authorities, he changed his appearance to have a longer face with sharp features. His physique is large and muscular, as well as imposing, which is often covered in suits.
Gotou's monster and true form
At the end of the series, his true form is shown, which is a 3-meter tall monster. In this appearance he possesses 4 eyes, a large mouth with razor sharp teeth, long pointed ears and a body composed entirely of pure exposed muscle. He also has four arms, which are equipped with sharp scythes, a scythe tail and dinosaur-like legs.
Personality[]
Gotou is mainly a misanthrope. He believes that humans are nothing but an inferior species as well as only a source of food. He is ruthless, cold-hearted, calculating, emotionless (like the rest of the parasytes), and a menacing individual. Despite this he has a fond or respect towards her creator, Reiko Tamura, who he considered a worthy opponent to face instead of Shinichi.
Powers and Abilities[]
Gotou is an extremely powerful Parasyte. Like the rest of the Parasytes, he mainly has the ability to shapeshift in order to disguise himself as a human. However, as his body is composed of four parasytes, each replacing a different limb, these abilities extend to all of his body. This makes him incredibly faster, stronger, and more dangerous above all parasytes, making him an opponent almost impossible to defeat.
He is the most intelligent and skilled. He is capable of hardening his offensive and deffensive abilities into a highly durable armor that can withstand a grenade attack and/or bullets as demonstrated during his fight against the SWAT forces. He is able to alter the parasytes in his body to adapt them at different situations, greatly increasing his mobility. In his monster form, he can turn his extremities into weapons that can cut everything effortlestly.
