The Glutton is an enemy creature from the survival-horror game The Evil Within 2. It is a Lost variant that is subserviant to Theodore Wallace. These monsters represent citizens of Union that were overindulgent and driven by greed. Thanks to Theodore's manipulations, they have been corrupted and transformed into repulsive beasts.
Appearance[]
The Glutton is a humanoid zombie-like creature with a large, bloated body. Its skin is a putrid grey and sports large pustules over various areas of its body. It also appears to have other body parts protruding from its flesh, as though it has absorbed other people into itself. A Glutton only has one of its original arms, the other having been consumed by cancerous growths. It moves about on two stubby legs which, by all rights, should not be able to support its swollen frame.
Behaviour[]
Gluttons can be found around Union between the eleventh and thirteenth chapters of the game. They amble about idly until Sebastian Castellanos approaches one of them, upon which a Glutton will charge. When a Glutton gets close to its victim, it will lunge and then suddenly explode in a shower of gore, scattering blood and organs everywhere. The explosion, of course, kills the Glutton and deals heavy damage to Sebastian if he is caught in the blast.
Combat[]
Despite their volatile nature, Gluttons are quite hardy creatures. They can take several hits from a shotgun before they succumb and will explode upon death. Given their propensity to explode, maintaining distance is strongly advised when combating these creatures. However, they can also be dispatched with sneak attacks that will not trigger an explosion. Sniping them with a headshot may also take them down without resulting in an explosion.
