The Gargantua Koopa Troopa is a sub-species of Koopa that has appeared in a handful of Super Mario titles. These giant Koopas behave in a similar to normal Koopa Troopas, with their size being the only major difference between them. In Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario could stomp on Gargantuas and they would withdraw into their shells which could then be picked up and/or kicked. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario fights a trio of them on a lonely planetoid in the Supermassive Galaxy and can only beat them by using the Spin Drill item, burrowing through one side of the planetoid and busting through the other side and striking the Koopa from beneath.
