The Fright Master is an enemy encountered in the night-time stages of Sonic Unleashed. These sinister creatures are among the more intelligent minions of Dark Gaia.
A variant of the Dark Master, Fright Masters can be told apart by their cyan colouration with pink eyes and markings on their robes. They carry red staves with them; the heads of these wands resemble Dark Frights, which the Fright Masters are capable of conjuring at will.
In combat, a Fright Master will keep its distance from Sonic the Werehog and use its staff to cast a spell that spawns multiple Dark Frights, giving Sonic additional enemies to fight. While it can attack with its staff, it will normally only do so when Sonic approaches it, striking once before teleporting to another part of the battlefield. It also can only summon a certain number of Dark Frights at a time, only summoning more when others have been defeated.
