Flatorte

Flatorte is one of the main characters of Slime Taoshite 300 nen. She is a Blue Dragon who is a friendly rival towards Laika and is currently indentured to Azusa Aizawa.

Background

Flatorte is a proud and fierce member of the Blue Dragon Tribe, known for her brash personality and hot-blooded nature. As a rival to Laika, she frequently finds herself at odds with her, especially in matters of strength and honor. She hails from a noble dragon lineage, being the daughter of Cainresq and Armeshtan.

Before the events of the story, Flatorte had a romantic relationship, though the details surrounding her former boyfriend and the breakup remain a mystery. This subtle layer to her character suggests a more emotional depth beneath her aggressive exterior.

Flatorte makes her first appearance during the interruption of Laika’s sister’s wedding, where she and other members of the Blue Dragon Tribe attempt to assert dominance. However, despite her confident entrance and battle prowess, she is quickly defeated by Azusa, a moment that humbles her greatly and eventually sets the stage for her evolving relationship with the rest of the group.

Flatorte became bound to Azusa Aizawa after the latter—unaware of Blue Dragon Clan customs—touched her horn, which, by their traditions, signifies the formation of a servant-master bond of absolute obedience. Realizing the depth and dangerous implications of this oath, which includes unquestioning loyalty to the point of self-sacrifice, Azusa sought a way to break it without harming Flatorte. Using a clever loophole, Azusa gave Flatorte a single command: to live freely, by her own will. This compassionate act released Flatorte from her tribe’s rigid tradition. Deeply moved by Azusa's kindness and respect, Flatorte chose to remain by her side voluntarily, becoming a part of the household not as a servant, but as a companion

Appearance

Flatorte adopts the form of an adult woman with rearward-facing dragon horns and a blue reptilian tail, distinguishing her from both humans and Red Dragons. She has light green eyes and lilac-colored hair with a purple sheen, which she ties into loops on either side of her head, giving her a distinctive silhouette.

In her initial appearance, Flatorte wears a pink dress during her interruption of the wedding. In later scenes and illustrations, she is depicted wearing a more refined shoulder-less dress, which complements her dignified yet imposing dragon presence.

Personality

Flatorte is a brash, blunt, and abrasive individual, known for her self-important attitude and frequent incompatibility with others. She often displays open disdain, particularly toward members of the Red Dragon Clan, and tends to speak without a filter, even when others would prefer discretion. An example of this is when she openly called a wandering artist’s painting gloomy, much to the embarrassment of Azusa and Laika—who agreed, but didn’t dare to say it aloud.

Since joining Azusa’s household, Flatorte has softened somewhat, becoming more considerate and gentle in her interactions. Still, her lack of subtlety, overconfidence, and impulsive nature regularly get her into trouble, often needing others to step in and help. Her competitive streak, especially with her rival Laika, is another defining trait.

Having spent most of her life in dragon form, Flatorte’s sense of modesty is inconsistent. She’s shown discomfort and embarrassment when seen nude in her human form by sentient strangers, despite otherwise carrying herself with confidence.

Powers and abilities

Like all the members of the Blue Dragon Tribe, Flatorte has the ability to turn herself into an imposing Blue Dragon, alongside the other magical abilities which include:

• Ice Breath: As a member of the Blue Dragon Clan, Flatorte possesses the innate ability to exhale an extremely cold breath capable of freezing targets instantly. Among those who have faced it, only Azusa has effortlessly withstood its effects.
• Flight: In her full dragon form, Flatorte can soar through the skies at incredible speeds, showcasing agility and aerial maneuverability on par with her rival, Laika of the Red Dragon Clan.
• Musical Talent: Flatorte has demonstrated exceptional musical ability, particularly in her singing voice and lute playing. Her talent was first revealed to Azusa and Kuku, leaving a strong impression.

• Baking: Despite her brash demeanor, Flatorte is a highly skilled baker. Her rivalry with Laika extends into the culinary world, where the two have gone head-to-head in baking contests—though a definitive winner has yet to be decided.
