The Samcă (pl. Samce) is a flying mutant creature that appears in Resident Evil Village. Like the Moroaică, it was once a female human that was murdered by Alcina Dimitrescu and then reanimated after being infected with the Mold. The infection mutated the host body into a bat-like monster.
Biology[]
Due to unknown circumstances, a number of Lady Dimitrescu's victims underwent a bizarre transformation after their bodies were infected with Mold. The arms of the subjects elongated and warped to form large bat-like wings, allowing them to fly. The subjects' tongues were also altered, extending out of the narrowing mouth as a sharp proboscis used for feeding on the blood of prey. These traits may indicate that the Mold had previously assimilated the DNA of bats and mosquitos.
Behaviour[]
Samce are feral and highly territorial. They have taken up residence on the roof of Castle Dimitrescu and attack anyone that dares venture up there. It is unclear how they detect prey, though it is believed that they rely on sound and smell rather than sight. When prey is detected, a Samcă will fly in close and attack with its legs, kicking the victim to the floor before pinning them down in order to feed by stabbing them with its proboscis.
Combat[]
Samce are fairly weak and can be killed with a few rounds from a handgun or a single shotgun blast at close range. However, as flying creatures, they are best dispatched from a distance with a sniper rifle.
