The Fachan, sometimes Fachin, is a bizarre giant who origins lie in the folklore of the Scottish highlands.
Description[]
A unusual creature indeed, the Fachan is occasionally said to be "half of a human being." It possesses one eye in the centre of its forehead similar to that of a Cyclops, one leg, which projects from the bottom of its torso, and no arms. It does, however, have a single great hand which sprouts from the middle of its chest. Continuing the theme, it displays a lone tuft of hair on its head, something akin to a horn, which is said to be nigh-impossible to break or bend.
Variations[]
In Irish folklore, there exists a similar yet unnamed creature, although this version also sports a layer of tough feathers across its body and wields a twenty-chained flail tipped with fifty poisonous apples.
