Dolcetto

Dolcetto (also known as Dorochet) is a human-based chimera from Fullmetal Alchemist. A former soldier in the Amestrian State Military, he was discharged from service after being severely wounded in battle. However, the State wasn't yet done with him and Dolcetto was subjected to alchemical experimentation where he was spliced with dog genes.

Appearance[]

Dolcetto is a stocky man with pronounced arm muscles, light skin, blue eyes, a wide nose and short, spiky black hair (blonde in the 2003 anime) with a widow's peak. He dresses in a skintight, black undershirt, a white keikogi with a pair of matching white, baggy pants tied around his waist with a black sash and boots. He also sports long, black armbands with zippers.

History[]

Dolcetto had been critically injured in battle during a conflict in Aerugo. After being taken to an alchemic lab, his body was healed and alchemically combined with a dog, though he still appeared human on the outside. Not long after the experiment, Dolcetto, Martel, Roa and Bido escaped from military custody and fled to South City where they met with the rogue homunculus Greed, joining forces with him and agreeing to satisfy his vices.

After the chimerae abducted Alphonse Elric, they drew the attention of both Edward Elric and the Amestrian military. As soldiers stormed the Devil's Nest via the sewers, Dolcetto opted to stay and fight, remarking that his dog genes made him extremely loyal. However, he and Roa found themselves fighting against King Bradley, who made short work of them thanks to his Ultimate Eye.

In the 2003 series episode "Theory of Avarice", Dolcetto and Roa accompany Greed and the captive Alphonse Elric to an isolated barn in the woods after fleeing from the Devil's Nest. However, they are then confronted by the homunculi Lust and Gluttony. Greed and Al escape while Roa and Dolcetto keep the homunculi at bay. They are both last seen charging at their opponents and are killed off-screen. Gluttony is shown to have blood around his mouth after the fight, implying that he ate the two chimerae.
