Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters
Bela, Daniela and Cassandra are the daughters of Alcina Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village. These women were not Alcina's biological children, but were adopted by her after surviving Mother Miranda's experiments with the Cadou parasites.
History[]
Bela, Daniela and Cassandra were originally normal human women who served Countess Dimitrescu as servants in her castle. During the late 1950's, each of these young women were subjected to experiments by Mother Miranda, who ruled over the region where the castle stood. During these experiments, the three women were consumed by imitation blowflies spawned from the Mold-based Cadou, which assimilated their DNA and mimicked human cells. The flies then coalesced into the bodies of the women they had consumed, becoming imitations of them. Bela, Daniela and Cassandra did not remember their lives from before the experiments and were adopted by the Countess.
Over the decades that followed, Bela, Daniela and Cassandra lived with Alcina and completely devoted themselves to her. Like their mother, they required living human flesh to survive and so they fed on the castle's servants to satisfy their hunger. In 2021, Mother Miranda began preparing for the ceremony to resurrect her lost daughter Eva and ordered the slaughter of all the remaining villagers. This also included the remaining maids and servants in Castle Dimitrescu, who were all fed to Alcina and her daughters.
When Ethan Winters arrived in the village, he came to the castle in search of his daughter Rose, but was captured by the daughters. Alcina left Ethan pinned to a wall in her bedroom while she went to inform Miranda, but Ethan freed himself and began exploring the castle. During this time, he was attacked by each of the Dimitrescu daughters who hunted him throughout the castle halls. Bela was the first to harrass Ethan, confronting him in the castle's kitchen. While Ethan's gunfire had no effect on Bela herself, he did shatter a window and let the cold, winter wind into the room. The low temperature forced Bela to remain cohesive in her human form and she could not scatter into an insect swarm, thus Ethan was able to fight and harm her. After receiving several gunshot wounds, Bela's body calcified and fell to pieces.
The next of the daughters to hound Ethan was Cassandra. She would ultimately corner Ethan inside a storeroom where he had nowhere to run or hide. Luckily for Ethan, there was a supply of pipe bombs in the room and one of the walls was damaged. Using the explosives, Ethan destroyed the damaged wall, exposing Cassandra to the cold and forcing her to remain in human form, allowing him to kill her.
Finally, Ethan would battle Daniela inside the castle library. He would use a lever within the room to open a skylight in the ceiling to let cold air in and keep Daniela in human form, leaving her vulnerable to his attacks. Shortly after killing Daniela, Ethan found all of the ornate masks that he needed to open the exit door, but Lady Dimitrescu was not about to let him go after he had killed her daughters. Although she transformed into a giant, dragon-like monster, even this wasn't enough to stop Ethan, who killed Alcina and fled the castle.
Abilities[]
- Intelligence - Unlike most of the Cadou mutations encountered in Resident Evil Village, Bela, Daniela and Cassandra retained their human intelligence, although they had lost all memories of their lives prior to their transformation. Raised by the entitled and sadistic Lady Dimitrescu, the three had become psychopathic and bloodthirsty. They shared in Alcina's misandry and sense of superiority, taking great pleasure in tormenting Ethan and expressing great anger whenever he fought back.
- Insect Transformation - Each of the Dimitrescu daughters could assume either a human form or transform into a swarm of flies. The flies acted in accordance to the will of the individual they spawned from, attacking Ethan by swarming all over him and biting into his flesh. When the girls turned into insect swarms, Ethan could not hurt them with the weapons he had.
- Immortality - Since being mutated, the Dimitrescu daughters did not physically age. Provided that they continued with their diet of human flesh and blood, they could have lived indefinitely.
Weaknesses[]
While the daughters could avoid being harmed by scattering their bodies into swarms of insects, they were vulnerable to low temperatures. The cold forced them into cryobiosis, preventing them from dividing into insects and making them vulnerable to attack. While their humanoid forms were more resilient than regular humans, they still could not survive repeated gunshots.
