Derro, much like duergar, are sub-race of gnomes that live mainly in the Underdark. They are depicted as having white eyes with no irises or pupils. Their height ranges from 3-4 feet and have weight of no more than 40 LBS.

Derro are most commonly found in the slums of the Underdark, and are seen as insane by other races. They find no use in worship, in fact they despise most, if not, all gods. These strange humanoids thrive in the chaos of most cities, with few wondering away from it all. One could even consider these strange dwarves as agents of chaos. Their society is prone to making wildly risky bets, for pretty much anything they can get their grimy little hands on. Each derro has at least one obsession, whether it be a passion of hate, a feud, a gripe, or whatever else. Most derros spend their life mainly focused on (about talking or actual) destroying that one obsession.
Racial Traits[]
Your derro character has certain characteristics in common with all other derro.
- Ability Score Increase - Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
- Age - Derro reach maturity by the age of 15 and live to be around 75.
- Size - Derro stand between 3 and 4 feet tall with slender limbs but wide shoulders.
- Alignment - Their naturally unhinged minds are nearly always chaotic, and many but not all are evil.
- Speed - Derro are fast for their size. Their base walking speed is 30 feet.
- Superior Darkvision - Accustomed to life underground, derros can see in dim light within 120 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. They can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
- Languages - Derros can speak, read, and write Dwarvish and the player's choice between Common and Undercommon.
