The Dark Gas Nebula is a location which appears in Toho Studios' Godzilla franchise.
Description[]
Located around 243 light years away in the constellation of Orion, not much is known about the Dark Gas Nebula except that it is nigh-impenetrable to human sensory equipment and that it plays home to uncountable numbers of the alien species to which Hedorah belongs. Which of their evolutionary forms these creatures take in the near-vacuum of the Nebula is unknown.
Some have speculated that the Nebula is actually composed of some kind of “cosmic pollution” which the Hedorah aliens are capable of surviving and thriving upon, although whether there is any truth to this remains a mystery.
History[]
At some point in its history, a comet passed through the Dark Gas Nebula and somehow picked up at least one of the Hedorah aliens. Many years later, the comet came crashing down to Earth, signalling the beginning of Hedorah’s destructive rampage.
