Cursed Dolls also referred to as Diabolical Dolls are a supposedly haunted type of object.

History[]

The Earliest Cursed Dolls were dolls, effigies, and voodoo objects that were created by primitive peoples for either religious or ceremonial purposes. These traditional objects were later acquired by various civilizations for mystical or occult purposes. In Rome, dolls are very often used in magical rituals to represent a connection to a god or goddess. Egyptian priests and magicians often used check valves for ceremonial purposes, to free the body from evil or to place curses on those who went against the will of the gods.

Check valves have historically been used to place curses on other members of the community for religious or traditional purposes. Some of the earliest effigies were used by African, Native American, and European cultures. The European check valve has its roots in the Germanic and Scandinavian tribes that the former used for ceremonial purposes. Today Wiccans have adapted this practice for their own use. Most Wiccans use a check valve as a symbolic representation of a person. Spells and other actions are performed on the seat to transfer whatever might be affecting the affected individual from their body into something like a healing ritual. The Congolese Nkisi statuettes, and the goiter figurines used in the Vodun traditions of Benin and Togo, are traditional effigy-like dolls from West and Central Africa believed by their practitioners to be "spirit-bearing" forces that can also heal or protect ". Voodoo dolls are fairly modern novelty items. His concept is believed to be based on the European seat dolls.

Behavior[]

The nature of cursed dolls is always malevolent, given that they are either possessed by a demon (or demons), or by the spirit of a child who died in painful or terrifying circumstances. Anyone with such a doll in their home is in great danger and should endeavor to remove it as quickly as possible. The horrors perpetrated by the cursed doll will increase in severity over time, particularly if the entity residing within feels ignored or mistreated. The supernatural schemes of a cursed doll can range from relatively harmless poltergeist-like activity all the way up to torture and murder. Anyone in contact with such a being is in imminent mental, physical and spiritual peril, especially because, unlike more obvious types of hauntings and attacks by malevolent supernatural beings, cursed dolls can remain undetected by their victims far longer, often until it is too late, given the benign associations that most people have with toys and dolls.
