In Greek mythology, Crius was one of the first generation of Titans, a group of god-like primordial beings who fought the pantheon of Olympian deities for control of the universe.

Description[]

Notable only for being the grandfather of the goddess of witchcraft Hecate, Crius took part in the long struggle against Zeus and his upstart gods when they attempted to wrest control of the cosmos from Cronus and his siblings. Bested by the greater power and youthful vigour of the Olympians, Crius was banished to the Pit of Tartarus along with the other Titans.

Trivia[]

  • Crius is believed to have been created by Greek storytellers for the sole purpose of matching the numbers of Titans evenly with the number of Olympians, twelve.
