The Coffin on Wheels is a supernatural entity and urban legend from Russia, the entity has parallels with many other ghost stories concerning the vengeful dead and is considered among the more chilling urban legends due to its macabre visuals and its use of dread to portray the entity as an unstoppable force of revenge (though in some versions of the story the Coffin on Wheels is actively malevolent and hunts down completely innocent victims).
Biography[]
Like many urban legends the specifics of each story is different but shares a common theme in that one or more individuals find themselves haunted by a strange, sinister voice that speaks via radio, phone or electronic devices and warns them "the Coffin on Wheels knows your town and is looking for your home".
After this chilling warning a second warning utters "the Coffin on Wheels knows your home and is looking for your front door".
At this point the victim(s) are unable to do anything as a ghostly knocking occurs at their front door, even if the victim refuses to answer the door the Coffin on Wheels forces itself into the home and wheels itself over to its target, the coffin proceeding to open and reveal an undead monster that will kill, mutilate and drag the victim to Hell.
In many versions of the story the victim(s) are murderers who have managed to evade justice and the "monster" within the coffin is the angry spirit of their victims, seeking vengeance.
