Clay golems are a type of golem that appear in Dungeons & Dragons. These entities are constructed from clay mud by clerics who then infuse them with elemental spirits from the Plane of Earth to bring them to life.
As with any type of golem, clay golems are bound to obey the commands of whoever created them. They may understand the language of their makers, but cannot speak or think for themselves. Clay is a weak vessel for life, so if a clay golem is damaged, the earth spirit bound to it may be released, causing the vessel to go berserk and destroy everything around it.
Abilities[]
- Slam - Clay golems will attack by flailing their limbs with all their strength.
- Berserk - After taking sufficient damage, a clay golem will become enraged and run out of control, destroying anything in its path.
- Magic Resistance - Golems of any kind are typically resistant to magical attacks.
- Acid Absorption - Acid will be absorbed into the clay golem's form and restore its health.
- Darkvision - Golems can see perfectly in complete darkness.
- Immutable Form - Golems cannot be affected by any shape-altering spells.
Weaknesses[]
- Earthquake - Spells that cause the earth to shift can immobilise and even destroy a clay golem.
