According to legend Churel are the vengeful spirits of women who died in tragic circumstances such as childbirth or due to suffering at the hands of loved ones, becoming a type of demonic revenant that exclusively targets males.
Often latching onto trees and thus being considered a type of tree-spirit as well.
Churels can shift form from hideously ugly to unnaturally beautiful, often luring men into the woods or mountains before draining their life-force, turning them into frail old men.
