Celestabellebethabelle is a unicorn and a character from Alex Hirsch's animated series Gravity Falls. She appears in the Season 2 episode "The Last Mabelcorn".
History[]
In order to shield the denizens of the Mystery Shack from the psychic powers of Bill Cipher, Stanford Pines requires the hair of a unicorn in order to create a magical barrier around the Shack. Mabel, who has long been obsessed with unicorns, volunteers to go into the woods to find a unicorn. Ford allows her to go, but warns Mabel that he has previously dealt with unicorns and found them to be "frustrating".
Accompanied by her friends Grenda, Candy Chiu and Wendy Corduroy, Mabel investigates the forest and comes across the enchanted glade of the unicorns where they meet Celestabellebethabelle. Claiming to be the last of her kind, Celestabellebethabelle allows the girls into the glade (after taking their shoes off first). When Mabel asks if they can have a lock of her hair, Celestabellebethabelle claims to use her horn to see into Mabel's soul and determine if she is pure of heart. She decides that Mabel is not pure of heart, much to Mabel's shock, and demands that the girls leave.
In order to prove that she is pure of heart, Mabel goes around Gravity Falls performing good deeds. When she returns to the glade, Celestabellebethabelle shuns her again, stating that she only did those good deeds to make herself appear noble and get what she wanted, even outright calling Mabel a bad person. Outraged by the unicorn's attitude, Wendy, Grenda and Candy devise a plan to steal a lock of hair from her, keeping Mabel out of the loop as they know she wouldn't approve. They later obtain fairy dust from a group of gnomes and return to the glade, using the fairy dust to knock out Celestabellebethabelle and cut a lock of hair from her mane.
Wendy, Candy and Grenda are caught in the act by Mabel, who is shocked and takes the scissors from Candy. At that moment, Celestabellebethabelle wakes up and sees Mabel with the scissors, accusing her of trying to steal her hair and stating that she will never be pure of heart. However, two other unicorns then appear and proclaim that Celestabellebethabelle is pulling a scam, telling the girls that unicorn horns can't see into people's souls; they just tell humans that so that they will leave the unicorns alone. Celestabellebethabelle then admits that she was lying and taunts Mabel about having more hair than she knows what to do with and mocking her that she can't do anything about it. In response, Mabel punches Celestabellebethabelle, leading to a fight between the girls and the unicorns.
In the end, the unicorns get beaten up quite badly and decide to give the girls the hair they came for, as well as a chest full of treasure on the promise that they never come back. The girls accept and return to the Mystery Shack with the hair, which Ford uses to create his Bill-proof barrier around the Shack.
Appearance[]
Celestabellebethabelle is a blue-tinted unicorn, whose horn glows pink and red. Her mane is multicoloured, with purple, blue, pink, yellow, and green locks. Her eyes are overly large and purple and have long eyelashes. Her hooves are pink and have white tufts of hair coming from right above the hoof, and she has three blue sparkles on her rear. Her tail has hair only at the tip, and it is the same style and color as her mane.
Personality[]
Celestabellebethabelle is aloof, arrogant and even cruel. She despises humans and prefers to have nothing to do with them, using lies and trickery to annoy Mabel Pines and her friends into leaving her alone. She has repeatedly used the scam of seeing into people's souls and telling them they are impure of heart in order to deny giving them her hair.
