monsters appearing in the popular, long-running horror/science-fiction series, The X-Files - the show was famous for its "monster of the week" format, which often introduced a new type of monster each episode, as well as its "mythos" arc, involving an over-arching alien invasion and government conspiracy.

The X-Files ran from 1993 until 2002, with a revival series also running from 2016 to 2018; the X-Files has made a significant impact on popular culture and many characters, events and stories have been directly inspired by the series and its many creatures and characters.
