Extinct

Species that have either become fully extinct or entered a stage of such extreme decline they are reduced to very small pockets (or in some cases a single individual). Once a species has become fully extinct, they are considered for all intents and purposes gone forever, though in many settings advanced technology and magic can revive a species from extinction.

Extinction may happen due to natural means or via internal problems within a single world, such as civil wars, large-scale disasters, social collapse or so on; alternatively extinction may occur due to external forces, either as a means to end a particularly dangerous parasitic species or as a result of gaining the attention of a more aggressive or advanced species.
