England is one of the major nations of Britain (alongside Scotland and Wales), for a significant portion of history England was completely separate from Scotland or Wales and thus developed a rich, unique mythology of its own, this mythology continues to the modern day but has slowly become merged with the larger British Mythology formed after unification of the three nations.
