The Botwoon is a serpentine creature that appears as a mini-boss in Super Metroid. Encountered in the Maridia region of Zebes, it swims about in a small room, entering and exiting small holes in the wall, The Botwoon will attack Samus Aran by spitting green spores in her direction in a spread pattern. Samus can shoot the spores and destroy them to acquire pickups such as health and ammo. The Botwoon's only other method of attack is to collide with Samus as it swims from one hole to another. Its weak spot is its head and can be damaged by the Charge Beam, Missiles or Super Missiles.
