Borea is a planet which features in the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired Cthulhu Mythos.
Description[]
A frigid, Arctic wasteland, Borea's entire surface is covered with seemingly endless sheets of ice. It is located in a dimension different to our own, and is orbited by a number of moons, several of which contain underground habitats.
History[]
Originally the prison of the Great Old One Ithaqua, held in bondage by the Elder Gods and their star-stones, once he broke free, he set about establishing his home there. Walking between worlds, Ithaqua began to kidnap humans from the Arctic Circle and bring them to Borea where they would worship him, build cities for him, and bear children to him. Ithaqua dwells there to this day, surrounded by his unwilling retinue, venturing to the Earth one year in every five to expand his cult.
