Bonnie (also known as Bonnie The Bunny/Bonnie The Rabbit) is one of the main antagonists of the Five Nights at Freddy's series. Bonnie is an animatronic rabbit and children's entertainer found at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, along with Freddy Fazbear and Chica. She is the guitarist of the band.
She debuted in the first game as one of the main antagonists, later making more appearances throughout the series, to a greater or lesser extent. Due to the events presented in the story, multiple spin-off versions of Bonnie have been seen throughout the franchise, such as Toy Bonnie, Nightmare Bonnie, Adventure Bonnie, and many others.
Appearance[]
Original[]
Bonnie is an indigo colored animatronic rabbit with magenta eyes. The color of her snout, belly, and the insides of her ears is a lavender color, and although Bonnie appears purple in several illustrations and in Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, she appears more dark blue than purple in most media. This could indicate that she was blue at one point, but was painted purple by unknown circumstances, hence the blue spots. She has long, articulated ears that are capable of bending back and forth (similar to other animatronics' ears) and wears a red bow tie. On stage, she carries a dark red guitar. Unlike the other characters, she has round teeth and no eyebrows.
In Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted, Bonnie's design remains mostly the same, but he is primarily blue, the color of his snout, belly, and the insides of his ears are now white, and his guitar sports a different look.
In Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, Bonnie's design remains the same as the original, although her color is mostly purple. Her outfit appears to be made of a metallic material.
Whitered[]
In the second game, he has a damaged appearance which is due to an attempted adaptation of the old models that took place before they were scrapped by their "Toy" counterparts. Like Withered Freddy, Withered Bonnie also has two buttons on her chest. Her face has been torn away, revealing part of her endoskeleton and wires dangling from her. Her lower jaw remains, with more teeth than the original Bonnie possessed in the first game, though the jaw itself still appears to be functional as seen in her jumpscare in Help Wanted. Her eyes have been removed, revealing glowing red irises. She is missing her left arm entirely, exposing a small strip on the upper section of hers, with a mass of wires surrounding her. Her right ear appears to be bent. Her suit has become more tattered, especially around her legs, and loose wires are found outside of her body. The covering of her right hand and left foot has come off, revealing more of her endoskeleton. She also appears to have a larger stomach, as it looks rounder and larger than her upper body. Withered Bonnie also wears a red bow tie. Out of all the Withered, she appears to be the most ragged, as she has no face other than a jaw and only one arm.
In Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted, Withered Bonnie's design remains unchanged for the most part, however the most noticeable change is that she has a darker shade of purple.
Personality[]
The theme song for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza reveals that Bonnie has a personality based on a rock musician; boastful, proud, with the speech pattern of a laid-back hippie stereotype.
Overnight, Bonnie becomes a vengeful and sadistic killer, murdering any adult in the pizzeria at night to get revenge on her killer. He is by far the most active animatronic, usually being the first to leave the stage, displaying an eagerness to kill. He also appears to be an unfair and dirty player, as one of his tactics is to go to the closet and then straight to the office, unexpectedly abandoning his usual route to catch people off guard. He is also persistent, but quickly gives up when repelled, as in the first game, he is the animatronic who tries to attack the most, but is also not slow to leave when blocked. His spasms and his moans in West Hall indicate that he is impatient and restless. He seems aware that the night guard is looking at him, as he will look directly at the camera to intimidate and annoy him.
In Ultimate Custom Night, if Bonnie is seen in Pirate Cove when he is active, he will damage cameras and temporarily disable them. This is because, according to Scott Cawthon's description of Bonnie for the game, he is upset and cranky because he is forced to stay with Foxy in Pirate Cove, which is tight for both of them; therefore, if he is caught peeking out of Pirate Cove, he will get angry, scare the player and disable the cameras for a while, showing that he hates tight spaces and being bothered. With this evidence that he hates tight spaces, it can be assumed that he is claustrophobic. According to the Five Nights at Freddy's (How to Draw Book) book, Bonnie greatly enjoys playing his guitar and is also described as a confident performer.
