The Bone Eater was a creature which appeared in the 2008 fantasy-horror movie The Bone Eater.
Description[]
At first human-sized, as the movie progressed the Bone Eater grew to become an enormous creature at least twice the height of a man. It was composed entirely of human bones, with long, spiked protrusions sprouting from the top of its head. It’s eyes glowed a bright green, and it was intrinsically hostile to humans.
History[]
After a building conglomerate in the Alabama wilderness unearthed an ancient Native American bone war axe whilst constructing a new leisure complex, the disturbance awakened the spirit of the Bone Eater. Swiftly dispatching two of the workmen who had uncovered the weapon, the Bone Eater then set off in pursuit of the third who had fled with the war axe, the only thing which posed a threat to it.
After running riot across the Alabama wilderness and killing several people in the process, head of the local Native American tribe, Chief Storm Cloud undertook a vision quest to discover a way to defeat the monster. Divining that the only way was to battle it with the bone axe, he imparted this information to the local sheriff, who was himself part Native, shortly before the monster killed him.
Sheriff Evans managed to locate the axe, and proceeded to confront the Bone Eater, killing it after a short fight by throwing the axe into its chest, causing the creature to disintegrate.
Powers and Abilities[]
Deathly Touch[]
- The Bone Eater was capable of killing through simple contact with one of its appendages, causing the victim’s flesh to disintegrate into dust. It achieve the same effect with the bony swords and daggers which it carried from time to time.
Bone Arrows[]
- It had the ability to fire sharpened bones at its enemies, which had the same effect as its touch.
Toxic Breath[]
- It possessed the power to exhale a toxic green mist, which had the same effect as its disintegrating touch.
Size Alteration[]
- After killing an opponent, the Bone Eater was able to incorporate the bones of its victims into itself, effectively increasing its size and mass.
Supernatural Steed[]
- The Bone Eater was able to summon a great horse-like creature to carry it around at speeds which could match and even exceed that of a standard automobile. This steed appeared to be composed entirely of sand and dust.
Magical Resistance[]
- The Bone Eater was capable of easily destroying the magical barrier erected by Chief Storm Cloud in an effort to contain it.
