The Bombshell Koopa (also known as Nokobon) is a variety of Koopa that only appears in Super Mario Land on the Game Boy. This Koopa moves about on all fours and behaves in a similar manner to Koopa Troopas, but when stomped on by Mario, they explode a second later, destroying themselves and harming Mario if he stays too close.

- The Bombshell Koopa was only named as such when Super Mario Land was ported to the Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.
- Apparently, the Bombshell Koopa replaced standard Koopa Troopas in Super Mario Land because the game's programmers found it too difficult to incorporate the Koopa shells' ricochet effects into the game.
