The Blackness from the Stars is an Outer God which features in the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired Cthulhu Mythos.

Description[]

Formed of the very fabric of the cosmos itself, the Blackness rests at the centre of all of Creation, an amorphous mass of sentient darkness. In the unlit nothingness of space it is distinguishable from its surroundings only as a faintly iridescent cloudy nebula. Although intelligent and certainly capable of communicating with other beings, the Blackness chooses not to, ignoring any attempt to engage it in conversation; when it does speak (although never to another entity), it vocalises in a language unknown to any other lifeform.

Appearances[]

  • The Blackness from the Stars made its only appearance in the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game splatbook King of Chicago (1994) by Gary Sumpter.
