Big Boos are a variant of Boo encountered in numerous Super Mario titles, starting with Super Mario World. These spirits seem to behave in the same manner as regular Boos, but are much larger. They are so big that Mario cannot jump over them without jumping from an elevated position or without a running start. Like regular Boos, Big Boos will float toward Mario menacingly, but will stop if Mario looks directly at them.
