Bido is a minor character from Fullmetal Alchemist. Little is known about him except that he was a human test subject at Alchemical Laboratory 5 who had been turned into a chimera after being alchemically spliced with reptilian DNA. During the Elric brothers' investigation of Lab 5, Bido and various other chimerae escape and join up with the rogue homunculus Greed.
Biography[]
Manga and Brotherhood anime[]
While visiting their teacher Izumi Curtis in the town of Dublith, Edward and Alphonse Elric run afoul of a group of chimerae who manage to abduct Al. The chimerae take Al back to their hideout, a pub known as the Devil's Nest. There, Greed reveals his nature as a homunculus to Al and asks him about how his soul was bonded to his armour.
Not long after Al's abduction, Ed and Izumi arrive at the Devil's Nest, beating Greed's henchmen before confronting the homunculus himself. However, the State Military are not far behind and begin slaughtering all of Greed's gang. Bido hides from the soldiers as the massacre takes place and finds himself to be the only survivor. For some time after, he spies on the Curtis family's butcher shop, listening to all of the soldiers coming and going. He decides to stow away on the undercarriage of a military car headed for Central City, eager to discover what has become of Greed.
After arriving in Central, Bido makes his way into the tunnels beneath Central Command, finding himself in the storage area where the military are keeping their new Mannequin Soldiers. Terrified, Bido runs away only to run into Ling Yao, who at this time is possessed by Greed. After listening to Greed-Ling speak, Bido realizes that the man standing in front of him is Greed. Greed, however, doesn't remember Bido and callously kills the gecko-man for trespassing, but in doing so awakens the latent memories of his previous incarnation's old friends.
2003 series[]
In the first anime series, Bido is ordered to continue gathering information by Greed and eventually teams up with Solf J. Kimblee in order to capture Wrath from Southern Military Headquarters. Though Bido hardly serves a purpose in the mission save to keep an eye on the volatile Crimson Alchemist, he refuses to let himself be turned into a bomb when Kimblee attempts it. Bido is later killed along with most of the other chimera during the military raid on Devil's Nest.
Appearance[]
Bido appears mostly human, but has visible scale-like spots on his skin, has no hair anywhere on his body and has a long, reptilian tail. His attire consists of dirty beggars' clothing, including a cloak to hide his face.
Abilities[]
Unlike the other chimerae in Greed's gang, Bido has no military training and does not fight. His only notable abilities are being able to adhere to surfaces and climb walls and ceilings, as well as having heightened senses.
