The Beast is the main antagonist of Over the Garden Wall. He is a mysterious magical being who acts as the monster of the Unknown. He cursed anyone that would dare enter into his forest which are then turned into Endelwood trees.
Appearance[]
The Beast is a dark, shadowy wendigo-like humanoid figure. He has white glowing eyes and long horn-like antlers on top of his head. This appearance is remained mostly when he is in the dark. However, when he is exposed to a flash of light, he reveals to be a tree-like creature whose body is entirely made of Eldelwood with several petrified faces, which can be possibly the spirits of the people he consumed.
Personality[]
The Beast is an extremely manipulative being as he persuades others to do whatever he says in order to make them succumb to hoplesness. He is motivated solely from his self-preservation, being indifferent to the suffering and death he causes to his victims. He is a master of deception who is very soft-spoken and complaisant. He speaks in a cold, direct and matter-of-fact manner and has an even temperament, though when threatening the lantern or defying him make him lose his composture.
