Bastiladons are creatures which appear in Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy and Age of Sigmar settings.

Description[]

Large reptilian creatures which bear a passing resemblance to the armoured dinosaurs of Earth’s distant past, Bastiladons are more like biological tanks than living organisms. Naturally gifted with enormously thick bony plates which cover the upper portions of their body, Bastiladons also possess a long tail with a heavy thagomizer. They are the only animals of Lustria known to be able to withstand the attack of an adult Carnosaur.

However, this protection does not come without a price, and as a result, Bastiladons are slow and lumbering creatures, and their greatest threat comes from the very swamps whose edges they inhabit; should a Bastiladons get caught in the mud and mire that comprise these bogs, then its own weight will see that it never gets free.

Domestication[]

As with many of the creatures of Lustria, the diminutive Skinks are known to steal Bastiladon eggs and hand-rear them as beasts of burden to serve the Lizardman empire. Due to the Bastiladons’ natural defensive properties, they are usually used as a platform upon which the Skinks mount their most valuable weapons of war; artefacts which would cause even a mighty Stegadon discomfort do not even register through the inches-thick plating common to one of these beasts.
