The Barrel Spider is an Emblem Heartless and an enemy from Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. It behaves in a similar manner to the Pot Spider, but instead of being an animated clay pot, it is a gunpowder barrel brought to life by the darkness.
Encountered in Neverland and Monstro, Barrel Spiders are fairly weak enemies that can be defeated without too much trouble. However, their primary method of attack is to charge at Sora and explode, causing heavy damage. While melee attacks can defeat them without causing them to detonate, it is safer to use ranged attacks with Blizzard and Fire magic. Fire spells can cause Barrel Spiders to detonate, stunning any enemies caught in the blast and leaving them vulnerable.
