Banshee

A banshee.

Usually seen as an omen of death. Can scream incredibly loudly and horrifyingly, though some have reported to have heard eerie singing or softer wailing, rather than the aforementioned shrieking.

'Banshee' comes from the Gaelic 'Bean Sidhe' (Bean Sí (Irish), Bean Shìth (Scottish), bean shith (Scottish). The Banshee is also known to wash the bloodstains from clothes, an omen of death. Banshees are seen in three forms. A young, beautiful woman, a matronly figure or a distressed hag.

Banshees are frequently described as dressed in white or grey, often having long, pale hair which they brush with a silver comb

Usually seen in Scotland and Ireland, a Banshee is a female Ghost. A banshee is an omen of death when it screams, it means where ever it screams, someone who hears it or someone they know is going to die. An eerie feeling can be felt when it screams as well.

• Sylvanas Windrunner from the videogame series Warcraft, is a High Elf turned Banshee Queen by Arthas. She is ruler of the Forsaken and resides in Undercity.
• It is believed that some Banshees are cannibals and feast on their prey
