The Apotheosis is an alien species from The Hatchetfield Universe.
Template:Infobox character The Apotheosis is a microscopic species of aliens that came to Earth via meteor. A human is infected either from inhaling highly consentrated amounts of spores released from the meteor/brain or the exchange of bodily liquids. Generally an infected individual dies and come back as a singing and dancing musical character. Those infected by the spores can become part of the collective consciousness before dying if they are close enough to the hive brain. Once transformed, it's common for the infected to sing about both daily life and their intent to take over the world. They are also able to pretend to be uninfected but their cover generally doesn't last long before they break into song and dance.
Those infected by The Apotheosis change to become professionals at dancing. Infected also become professional singers, transforming someone who's voice was "...pitchy..." into "...the voice of an angel." It's inplied that those who are infected are also healed from wounds sustained during the zombie like transformation process. Although generally more fragile then humans they are able to heal back from having their head broken open or blown up by a grenade. They are refered to as zombies by survivors and would classify as undead.
The Apotheosis has access to all the thoughts and feelings of their victims past lives, this is proven in the song "Tied up my heart" and "Not Your Seed". Those infected are still individuals although part of a collective mind. This is shown by their ablility to become desynchronised with other singing infected, resulting in the singing of different words to the collective.
All infected victims of the alien species can telepathically speak to each other via their singing, Which is how they all sing and dance in sync.
