The Antlion Worker is one of the various Antlion castes encountered in the Half-Life series. Also known as acid-lions, these creatures spit a highly corrosive spray used primarily for carving out new caverns and tunnels in order to expand an Antlion colony.
Workers are only ever found within or around an Antlion colony, never straying far from home. While their caste is strictly domestic, they are actually tougher than Antlion Soldiers, having larger amounts of health and inflicting greater damage with their acid attacks than soldiers can with their forelegs. Like soldiers, workers also have a pair of small wings. Since they do not leave the colony, workers only use their wings to hover between caverns.
