Alpha Hoppers are a larger variant of the Hoppers in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. These specimens may be the pack leaders and are highly territorial, attacking anything that ventures too close to their nests using their blade-like talons. They are easily distinguishable from other Hoppers by the red colouration of their hide, which is also considerably stronger. Samus Aran encounters these creatures on Bryyo and they prove to be more tolerant of her suit's weapons, though Hypermode attacks can destroy them easily.
