Akhenaten was the main villain of the alternate-reality Marvel story-arc, Marvel: The End, he is an example of a common theme in comic book fiction of a former human gaining cosmic powers so extreme that he outranked even the gods and cosmic entities of the native Marvel cosmology; his power was so great he is often compared to entities such as the original Beyonder, the Beyonders from Time Runs Out and the Marquis of Death (however he is not considered part of mainstream Marvel canon as the events of Marvel:The End has been stated numerous times to be an alternate canon from the rest of Marvel comics)
While he obtained unfathomable powers he was not always this way, indeed he started life as an ancient Egyptian pharaoh with no superhuman powers but a thirst for power, he would be abducted by a race of aliens known as the Celestial Order, who granted him a portion of power from the Heart of the Universe, he would spend 2000 years mastering this new power before betraying the Celestial Order and absorbing even more of their power.
Akhenaten would then go on an unstoppable rampage across the Marvel universe, enslaving many worlds and decimating the cosmic order, so much that the mad Titan known as Thanos was forced to act, seeking out the Heart of the Universe it would be Thanos who would merge with the object to obtain omnipotent power beyond even those of Akhenaten, which he used to overpower and ultimately kill the cosmic menace.
