An Aka Shita is a vengeful spirit from Japanese folklore resembling a monstrous creature with a long red tongue, sharp fangs and claws and a hairy beast-like face. The rest of the creature is obscured by a dark cloud, where the creature is also believed to live when not interacting with the human world.
Aka Shita are active when a farmer commits an act of evil during times of drought, usually via stealing water from a neighbors land. Aka Shita will promptly appear and lap up the stolen water with its giant tongue, denying the thief to profit from their misdeed.
